When NobodyisFlyingthePlane people believe that the government is responsible for job loss and creation (and the economy as a whole for that matter).
It is not.
Regardless of the rise or fall in jobs numbers, it was not Obama who caused the gain or loss. I understand that people want to believe that the state of the economy is the President’s doing but it is not. Neither Bush nor Obama caused the loss of jobs in 2008 and after. The organizations who fired people did.
Why did they fire them? Take your pick. Were they: overstaffed, inefficient, poorly run, victims of reduced demand, big meanies, opportunistic downsizers, innocent bystanders, smart survivalists, shrewdly efficient reorganizers, heroic saviors of every job they didn’t cut?
There is only so much the government can do to affect the economy. Don’t rush to blame or commend.
The details of the 100,000 jobs Jack Donaghy cut at GE are unimportant. Commend GE for becoming more efficient or profitable, or blame them for firing 100,000 people. It wasn’t Reagan, Bush, or Clinton who were responsible back then and its not Obama who is responsible now.
