It’s too obvious to mention who is or is not flying the plane in this story.
Its clear that airline mergers and the resultant loss of competition aren’t enough of a fuck you to customers. Now the airlines want to force customers to give them personal data which the airlines will then use to jack up prices whenever possible.
They may be counting on the new airfare pricing standard to increase revenue and profits. It is hard to see how this approach could result in more competition or anything but higher costs for many travelers.
