Companies do credit checks on prospective employees because they can and they can because the data is there. Obviously the world isn’t coming to an end because employers use credit histories to evaluate prospective employees.
The real issue is that when personal data exists and is commercially available it will be used for purposes other than originally intended. When NobodyisFlyingthePlane there is no forethought, no planning, no oversight, and no regulations for how personal data can and will be used against you.
